Is There a Grokipedia App? (No — Beware Fakes)

Short answer: no. xAI has not released an official Grokipedia app for Android or iOS, and the company has advised users to avoid third-party apps claiming to represent Grokipedia. The only official way to use it is the website, grokipedia.com, in your browser.

Why the confusion?

Because Grokipedia is popular and new, copycat apps and "Grokipedia APK" download sites sprang up almost immediately after launch. Some are harmless wrappers around the website; others are the usual risks that come with unofficial APKs — bundled adware, excessive permissions, or straight-up credential phishing. Financial Express and other outlets specifically warned readers to be wary of fake apps posing as Grokipedia to steal account details.

What about the Grok app?

Don't confuse Grokipedia with the Grok app — that one is real and official, xAI's chatbot for iOS and Android. But it's a conversational assistant, not the encyclopedia. If you want Grokipedia articles, you still go to the website.

The safe way to "install" it

On your phone, just open grokipedia.com in your browser and use "Add to Home Screen." You get an app-like icon with zero risk of a tampered APK. Our download page walks through this and links only to the official site — never to APK mirrors.
